STEM & STEAM for Kids

Ask questions. Build answers.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. STEAM adds the arts. At the YMCA of Greater Nashua, STEM and STEAM programs give preschool and school-age kids hands-on projects that spark curiosity, creativity and problem-solving.

Learn by Doing

What happens if we change this? How could we build it better? Kids work through questions like these with activities such as building challenges, simple experiments and creative design projects. Every "oops" is part of the learning.

Choose by Age and Interest

Preschool programs focus on playful exploration. School-age programs offer bigger challenges. Each listing describes the project focus and age range.

Keep the Curiosity Going at Home

Ask your child what they tried, what surprised them and what they'd change next time. Love making things? Explore Art. Want a full week of discovery? See Specialty Camps in Childcare & Camp.
